We offer a unique language and culture experience in Mexico for U.S. Spanish immersion families, and other families interested in experiencing Mexican culture and the Spanish language in an authentic way. Here is what you get:

Ten days in wonderful Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. (Click on the word Cuernavaca to learn more.) Every U.S. family lives with a carefully selected local family. During the weekdays, adults learn Spanish at the Fenix Language Institute; while kids enjoy an all-Spanish Day Camp, Club Fenix. On the weekends, excursions for everybody - to a market town, Tepoztlan, to a river resort Las Estacas, to Mexico City, and usually one within Cuernavaca as well. There is also one mid-week excursion: adults to the fabulous archeological site Xochicalco, and kids to a water park, Ojo de Agua Our host, the Fenix Language Institute, is a small, family-run language school that has been doing business in Cuernavaca for nearly 40 years. The U.S. organizer, Centro de Estudios Mulitculturales, is a Minnesota non-profit. This year, 2007, will be our 16th year of operating this program. Families from 20 states, from Alaska to North Carolina, Massachusetts to Texas, Minnesota to California, have joined us over the years. Cost: Our prices include language instruction, Club Fenix, the family stay, the excursions and transportation within Mexico - in other words, everything except your airfare and walking around money. Friday is Orientation Day. The first weekend is devoted to excursions. Monday through Friday (July 28-August 1) is for language instruction and Club Fenix.  (The daily schedule during this time is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Saturday, Las Estacas. Sunday, Mexico City. We stay in Mexico City that night so that people can be ready to leave on Monday, August 4.
